Becca C. Johnson, Ph.D

About

Dr. Johnson has served as trainer, counselor, consulting psychologist, clinical director and aftercare director for numerous anti-trafficking and child abuse organizations. Becca provides support, training and consultation on trauma-sensitive, trauma-focused care.

Dr. Johnson has been a licensed psychologist for 35 years, with a focus on “helping the hurting heal”. She also has a passion to equip others to help the hurting on their journey of healing.

Becca has served as the Clinical Director for Engedi Refuge, a residential recovery home for women victims of domestic sex trafficking, overseeing individual and group therapy. She has also been actively involved with Agape International Mission (AIM), as Director of Aftercare Programming and she continues as consulting psychologist for Agape Restoration Center, a residential program for young girls removed from the sex trade in Cambodia. She also served as International Program and Training Director for Rescue:Freedom International and currently serves as a Strategic Advisor for Atlas Free.

Becca consults and provides training for those working with victims of abuse, trauma, human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Dr. Johnson has provided trauma recovery workshops for over 250 organizations for victims of sex trafficking in the USA and in over 25 countries.

Dr. Becca has authored books on helping victims of abuse (The Journey to Hope – Overcoming Abuse), to empower victims of sexual exploitation (Leaving The Life – Embracing Freedom from Exploitation, co-authored with survivor-leader Jessa Crisp), trauma recovery (TRACTS – Trauma Recovery Activities), guilt (Good Guilt, Bad Guilt), anger (Overcoming Emotions that Destroy with Chip Ingram) and child abuse (For Their Sake).
