George Jemison, MA, LCPC

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

George feels passionate about helping people make changes in their life that bring about healing and develop resiliency.  He believes that relationships are at the core of transformative healing and endeavors to help each person establish and enhance relationships that will improve their well-being.  Coupled with this passion is a deep valuing of international missions, multi-cultural experiences, and coming alongside those on the front lines of ministry. Thus, George was drawn to member care early in his training as a psychotherapist.

In 2011, George received a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. George began his career in a hospital setting working with adolescents in both the residential and impulse control units, as well as, assisting with psychological assessments. Before moving to Chiang Mai, George worked in the Chicagoland area in private practice working with adolescents, adults, couples and families.

George has a broad range of experience from anxiety, depression, addictions, attachment wounding, establishing boundaries, career vocation, identity issues, conflict resolution, to personality disorders (as well as those affected by people with personality disorders), but specializes in bereavement, chronic pain, couples counseling, and promoting self awareness through digging deeper towards the roots of the issue. Additionally, he pursued specialized training in Imago Relationship Therapy and also trained with Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend on their therapeutic approach. With George, clients find an atmosphere of grace, authenticity, warmth, and honesty.
